It's important that a project like Grow can not just survive but thrive. If they can prove that an ethical and sustainable entertainment venue is viable then the model can be replicated and expertise shared and London will become better, more community orientated and ultimately more fun.
As swathes of Hackney Wick are being developed beyond recognition, the terrace at Grow remains one of the great London settings, especially early evening. While away your time gazing at the boats chugging past, people watching over at the towpath, sipping homemade Hackney Spiced Rum cocktails with great mezze.
All sounds very idyllic and that's before you add the live jazz with Mercury Prize nominated Rio Kai & his quartet floating serenely on a pontoon just off the terrace in the canal, every Thursday night for the rest of the summer. Perfection.
We will always try our very hardest to promote places which combine great entertainment with a social conscience. And Grow embodies that ideal.
