Tavares Strachan - In Plain Sight
Marian Goodman Gallery, Soho
Tuesday 8 September - Saturday 24 October
5-8 Lower John St, Soho, London W1F 9HA, UK
free with ticket
The first major UK exhibition of the work of Bahamian / American artist Tavares Strachan.
The exhibition is inspired by the extraordinary life and work of Matthew Henson, an African American explorer who was the first person to reach the North Pole in 1909. Investigating Henson's life is an ongoing mission of the artist through a project which he calls The Encyclopedia of Invisibility, due to how tragically untold Henson's story has been hitherto.
