The first major UK exhibition of award-winning Russian photographer, Evgenia Arbugaeva, features bewitching and eerie images from the Russian Arctic. Part of an ongoing project, Arbugaeva explores the people, cultures and landscapes of these remote and secluded lands.

Divided into four chapters, the exhibition follows first a station master living in solitude at a remote meteorological post, then a pair of lighthouse keepers similarly cut off from the world. The third chapter explores a derelict town of Dikson (pictured) with it's extraordinary light shows, and the fourth is an anthropological exploration of the Chukchi and their ancient practices.

'From Here to Eternity: Sunil Gupta. A Retrospective' and Evgenia Arbugaeva 'Hyperborea - Stories from the Russian Arctic' are on display at The Photographers' Gallery from 9th October 2020 - 24 January 2021. www.thephotographersgallery.org.uk/
