Work from pioneering female painter Artemisia Gentileschi. In a time where female painters were very much not the norm, Artemisia's work was too good to ignore. "I will show Your Illustrious Lordship what a woman can do", she famously retorted and you can just imagine how affronted some pompous dauphin would have been to hear it. Wonderful.

Renowned as a talented storyteller, highlights include the brutal imagery of ‘Judith beheading Holofernes’ as well as images of heroines from the bible, putting a new perspective on female subjects which were so often the preserve of male painters.
